A small project, built free
The best way to judge how we work is to see it. So we will build one focused piece of software for you, at no cost.
What “small” means
One problem, one piece of working software. For example:
- a web form and list that replaces a shared spreadsheet;
- a report that pulls together figures you currently collect by hand;
- a link between two systems you already use, so nobody re-types between them;
- a simple page where your customers can check the status of their order or booking.
If what you need is bigger than that, we will agree a small first part of it that is useful on its own.
The limits
So that it stays small and we can offer it to everyone who asks:
- Up to 2 days, covering qualification and development, plus a month of support: enough time to evaluate it properly.
- The scope is agreed in writing before we start, and does not grow during the work.
- One free project per business.
- Hosting is set up in your name and paid by you directly to the provider; we tell you what it costs before we start.
- We may decline a project we do not think we can do well in the time, and we will say why.
What you get
- Working software, tested and reviewed like everything else we build.
- The source code, in a repository in your name.
- A short written handover: what it does, how to run it, and what we would do next.
- A walkthrough with one of our engineers.
- A month of support while you try it.
No obligation
There is no contract to sign for the free project and no payment details to give. When it is done, it is yours to keep and use. If not, that is fine too.
After the free project
If you want us to carry on, you continue on our monthly plan: £399 a month + VAT, covering support, looking after your hosting and systems, and up to a day of development every month. Extra development is £299 a day + VAT. There is no setup fee and no minimum term.
